Licensing

Usage Policy

Every beat in the archive carries a status: FREE, AVAILABLE, or SOLD. These terms govern how each status may be used. Read the policy that applies to your intent before you release anything.

01

Free Use

Beats marked [FREE] are cleared for non-profit, non-commercial use only. This includes SoundCloud uploads, YouTube videos, and social media content that is not monetized. Producer credit is mandatory in the title or description: 'Prod. by TRACEFVR'. Free use does NOT grant distribution rights to streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.) — that requires a commercial license. Derivative works must not be registered with Content ID or any automated copyright system.

02

Commercial License

Beats marked [AVAILABLE] require a commercial license before any monetized release — streaming, albums, EPs, mixtapes, paid performances, film, TV, or advertising. Licensing is non-exclusive unless an exclusive buyout is negotiated. License tiers (MP3 lease, WAV lease, trackouts, unlimited) and pricing are available via the Airbit or BeatStars link on each beat page, or by direct inquiry. Failure to secure a license before commercial release constitutes copyright infringement.

03

Loops & Sample Use

Loops and sample packs from TRACEFVR are NOT royalty-free by default. Any loop used in a released recording requires: (1) producer credit, (2) an agreed-upon split on publishing and master ownership, and (3) confirmation that the loop has not been previously placed exclusively elsewhere. Loop license terms must be settled before release — retroactive splits will not be honored. Contact for loop-specific terms and stem availability.

04

Major-Label & High-Profile Placements

Any placement intended for major-label release, charting artists, broadcast television, theatrical film, or campaigns exceeding 1M impressions requires direct communication and a written agreement before proceeding. Verbal or assumed clearances are not valid. Exclusivity, recapture rights, and credit positioning will be negotiated on a per-placement basis. Reach out first — do not assume availability.

05

Publishing, Mechanicals & Points

TRACEFVR retains producer publishing unless explicitly transferred. Standard arrangements include: mechanical royalties (statutory or negotiated rate), performance rights (via PRO registration), and producer points (typically 3–5% of master royalties, negotiable). Advance recoupment, sync fees, and neighboring rights are addressed case by case. All terms must be documented in writing before release. Work-for-hire arrangements are available but require explicit written agreement — default is NOT work-for-hire.

06

Exclusive Rights & Buyouts

Exclusive rights transfer full ownership of the beat to the purchaser. Once exclusive rights are sold, the beat is marked [SOLD] and removed from all marketplaces. No other party may license or use the beat after exclusive transfer. Prior non-exclusive licensees retain their rights for the duration of their license term. Exclusive buyout pricing is available on request and reflects the beat's placement history, catalog position, and commercial potential.
